Lithium battery is mainly composed of shell, positive pole, negative pole, electrolyte and diaphragm. The positive electrode is composed of lithium cobalt oxide powder coated on both sides of the aluminum foil collector through the bonding PVDF; the negative electrode structure is similar to the positive electrode, which is composed of carbon powder bonded on both sides of the copper foil collector. Based on the structural characteristics of lithium battery positive electrode, our company adopts a combination of crushing, screening and airflow sorting process to separate and enrich it, in order to realize the separation and recycling of waste lithium battery positive electrode aluminum and black powder.

TECHNOLOGINAL PROCESS:

Based on the structure of lithium battery cathode and the material characteristics of aluminum and cathode materials, a combination of hammer crushing, vibrating screen and airflow sorting process is used to separate and recover the waste lithium battery cathode materials. ICP-AES was used to analyze the metal grades of the experimental samples and the separated and enriched products. The results show that: after the crushing and screening of the cathode material, the grade of aluminum in the crushed material with a particle size larger than 0.250 mm is 92.4%, while the grade of cathode material in the crushed material with a particle size smaller than 0.125 mm is 96.6%, all of which can be directly recovered; the grade of aluminum in the crushed material with a particle size of 0.125-0.250 mm is lower, and the effective separation and recycling of the aluminum and cathode material can be realized by airflow separation; the airflow separation process can be used to separate and recycle the aluminum from the cathode material; and the grade of metal in the separated and enriched products can be analyzed by ICP-AES. In the process of airflow sorting, when the operating airflow speed is 1.00 m/s, the recovery rate of aluminum reaches 92.3%, and the grade reaches 84.4%.
